The Clerk’s Office is responsible for two activities, the administration of elections and the day-to-day operation of the City Clerk’s Office.  Duties include managing; the city’s official records, birth and death records (in the city of Allen Park only), voter registration, elections, Freedom of Information requests.  The office also acts as a liaison and recording secretary to the Mayor and City Council.  In addition the Clerk’s Office manages business registrations, animal licenses; curb side pickup permits, garage and estate sale permits and other licenses and permits as listed elsewhere in the Clerk’s web   The Clerk is also the official keeper of the City Seal.

Michael I. Mizzi started his career in the City Clerk’s Office in 1995. In 1999 Mike was named Deputy Elections Clerk, Mike was appointed as Deputy City Clerk in 2002 prior to being elected Clerk in 2007 and has administered over 70 Elections to date.
