FOIA Information

The U.S. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a law ensuring public access to U.S. government records.  Updated June 30, 2015.

The City of Allen Park is not obligated to create a new public record or make a compilation or summary of information that does not already exist. The FOIA Coordinator and FOIA Officers are not obligated to provide answers to questions contained in requests for public records or regarding the content of the records themselves.

FOIAs that pertain to Police and Law Enforcement matters need to be directed to the Police Department.  This would include FOIA requests for traffic accidents, police videos, emergency calls, etc.    Please FAX request to 313-386-4158.  For additional Police FOIA information contact the Records activity at 313-928-1882.
