ALLEN PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2021
CITY OF ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN
 
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE ALLEN PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special School Election will be held in the City of Allen Park in the Allen Park Public School District, County of Wayne, on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at which time the qualified and registered voters of the Allen Park Public School District may vote on the following Proposal:
 
ALLEN PARK PUBLIC SCHOOLS
OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL
This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance and renews millage that will expire with the 2022 tax levy.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 20.8769 mills ($20.8769 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Allen Park Public Schools, Wayne County, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 10 years, 2023 to 2032, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2023 is approximately $1,717,512 (this is a renewal of millage that will expire with the 2022 tax levy)?

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the consolidated polling place for said election will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and the consolidated polling place for said election is as follows:

All polling locations are handicap accessible.  To obtain election instructions in an alternative format or for information on the (VAT) Voter Assist Terminals, contact the Clerk’s Office at 313-928-1144 prior to Election Day.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Notice is further given that the City Clerk’s Office at the Allen Park City Hall, 15915 Southfield Road, Allen Park, Michigan will be open on the following days for Absentee Voting purposes:
 
  • Regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 31st from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm
  • Election Day, Tuesday, November 2nd from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 
 
 
NOTICE OF PUBLIC ACCURACY TEST
 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public accuracy test for the November 2, 2021 Special School Election will be conducted on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., in the City Clerk’s Office located at Allen Park City Hall, 15915 Southfield Road, Allen Park, Michigan 48101. 
 
The public accuracy test is conducted to demonstrate that the computer program used to record and count the votes cast at the election have been prepared in accordance with law.
