The Allen Park Fire Department will strive to provide the highest level of professional service to the Citizens of Allen Park and all who visit our City.  We will provide the highest level of life safety, environmental and property protection through Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Fire and Injury Prevention, Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials Mitigation.  

Fire Prevention Division

The primary responsibility of the Fire Prevention Division is to enforce all adopted codes and City Ordinances pertaining to fire protection and investigation. Our department will inspect buildings to abate fire hazards and investigate the cause and origin of fires. We will follow up all proceedings in suspected arson cases. This division is also responsible to educate the public in matters of fire safety. This job takes on many facets that are comprised of several sections that accomplish enforcement through data entry, record keeping, fire scene photography, new construction plan review, public instruction and technical support. Chemical analysis for arson evidence is presently handled by the State of Michigan Fire Marshal’s Office (GRATIS). The primary goals of the Allen Park Fire Prevention Bureau are to provide a fire safe environment for all persons who live, work and visit the City of Allen Park .The Allen Park Fire Department prevention efforts are the responsibility of Fire Inspector Lieutenant Doug LaFond.
