Director of Public Services

Job Description:

The City of Allen Park, Wayne County, is seeking a Director of Public Services. This is administrative and technical work in directing and supervising the City’s Public Services operations. Work involves the responsibility for directing all phases of municipal public works, including road maintenance, water distribution, sanitary sewer and stormwater systems, meter reading and billing, public municipal facilities and grounds maintenance, sanitation and recycling services, fleet operations, and customer service. Director works closely with the City Engineer on a variety of public works related projects.
A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business or public administration, or related field is preferred. Experience requirements include seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible experience in public administration, public works, and water and sewer systems, including supervisory and administrative duties. Possession of an S-1 Water Distribution License is required (or ability to obtain within 1 year), as well as a valid Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.

Job Compensation

$68,444 to $85,556
